In the Netherlands when you need to call abraod you have 3 options:
* use your fixed line
* use 0900 numbers provided on internet
* buy calling cards
I have baught a calling card from Lycatel for 12 euros (you pay 10 euros for it)i made a call of 3 minutes and I realized that my credit fell by a whole 8 minutes!
I wanted to check again so I made another call of 6 minutes and then my credit fell by 10 minutes.
I called Lycatel's customer service. They kept me waiting for a whole 10 minutes, maybe trying to make me give up and hang up at the end but I resisted and waited.
After a 15 minute "hot" conversartion with them, they admitted charging a starting fee per call (they didn't say how much). this never mentioned on the card or on the posters they hang everywhere.
I find this a form of stealing and wrong advertisement.
After you see that your credit is running low faster than you have expected it you have no opton but to finish the credit. If thousands of customers buy these cards, you can understand why these @@@@@@ are driving in luxury cars and afford to rent offices in prestigious locations.
There is no clear regulation on these telecom companies and so they have a free space to act on their own and move on ripping off people.
Keep away from Lycatel!
Disgraceful!
