Don't go for UPC digital phone yet

I can only confirm what most people here seem to experience. My phone never worked very well from the beginning on and now it completely stopped working. No dial tone, resetting the modem doesn't help and my number is unreachable. UPC support is not very helpful - I think they simply cannot handle that kind of problem, understandable in a way.

There's some hope though: when they first introduced digital phone lines in Switzerland (cablecom) they had exactly the same problems until they started to exchange the modems. With the new modems everything worked fine for me for more than a year back there.

According to UPC they've started to switch to a new modem type in the Rotterdam area as a test project. I think in a few months UPC will be offering a fully functional phone service. Just not now.

Dear Andrew,

You steel money from your own pocket when you go to UPC. Way too expensive. Look I have the 8 Mbit/830Kb/sec from Compuserve. Look at this. Telephone and Internet works fine and that just for 34,95 per month and 24 hours from housephone to housephone for free. 12 ct per minute to a mobile telephone. So I have said By Bye to UPC.

En nu zelfs in het engels, en zelfs dat is een groot gelach!

Ga toch weer aan je werk bij de promotieafdeling van Compuserve!
