Wederom een misleidende mail. Nu afkomstig van, zo leest men: PayPal.

Er staat letterlijk:
Dear PayPal customer,


As part of our security measures, we regularly screen activity in the
PayPal system.
We recently noticed the following issue on your account:

Your bank notified us that a card associated with your account has
been reported as lost or stolen, or that there were additional
problems with your card.

Case ID Number: PP-071-362-996

For your protection, we have limited access to your account until
additional security measures can be completed. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may cause.

To review your account and some or all of the information that PayPal used
to make its decision to limit your account access, please visit the
Resolution Center here:

LET DUS GOED OP!!!!

Ik heb eveneens diezelfde mail binnen gekregen en heb ingelogd op die site. Daar wordt gevraagt naar je credit card gegevens maar ook naar je burgerservice nummer wat ik al helemaal raar vond. Ik heb hierop met paypal gebeld en deze gaf mij te kennen dat zij er al veel aan hadden gedaan om het bekend te maken bij iedereen zoals het in de krant zetten en in het nieuws laten komen.

Nu ben ik iemand die veel nieuws kijkt en elke dag de krant leest maar ben dit onderwerp niet tegen gekomen. Ik heb dit ook aan de persoon aan de telefoon laten weten en tevens gevraagt of zij hun leden/klanten niet even via de mail hadden kunnen verwittigen. Daar kreeg ik te horen dat zij niet van plan waren aan 191.000.000 mensen een mail te versturen.

Het lijkt mij dat als er iets in omloop is wat je bedrijf in discrediet kan brengen je alles op alles moet zetten om je klanten in bescherming te nemen. Anders deug je niet als bedrijf.

Banken en ook paypal, hebben al verschillende malen aangegeven geen e-mails te versturen waarin om persoonlijke gegevens wordt gevraagd.

En dit soort mailtjes zijn ondertussen oud nieuws, maandelijks komen er nieuwe varianten uit.
