We had our new CV installed by Kemp Services BV, Amstelveen in 2004 and also bought a yearly maintenance contract with them.

Recently we noticed that we need to fill in water very frequently and that the CV got overheated very often. We notified Kemp but received the same reply that it was normal and nothing was wrong. Until one day we found water dripping from the CV and it stopped working. We called Kemp to have a look. To our surprise, they could not fix it!!!!! It is the CV that Kemp sold and installed but sadly enough they did not know how to fix it. They worked on it a couple of days in a roll but with no result. In the end they called in the manufacturer to come in and fix it. It got fixed in the end.

To our horror, we got the invoice from Kemp of 1,374.13 euro !!!! We have never been told during the repair that the cost will be this high. More than half of this is for Kemp's labour cost. Yes! we have to pay even though they do not know how to fix it. We tried to notify them in writing many times that their invoice is not reasonable and that we refused to pay this high amount. Nevertheless, we keep receive their invoices. Now they are threatening us that we need to pay!!!!

Would you believe that you need to pay for 1.3k repairing for a 2.5k CV?

What should we do in this case?

pay the bill....

example:
a used Opel Astra costs 2000, - Euro. a new cost EDU 1050, - Euro.
an Edu (google on Astra 1.7dti EDU) is 10 by 10 inches Product 200, - Euro working costs
not whining, but just pay and find a good company

The issue is that the material cost less than 100 euro and the rest is the labour cost!!!! They just do not know how to fix this issue and we, customer, has to pay for their inefficient use of time.

You should have informed prior to the repair about the labour cost. Time spent to find a solution has to be paid also. Seems very normal to me.

Right, we had NEVER been informed the estimated cost of fixing this issue. We do know the labour cost per hour but what would you do......would you say "Oh sorry sir you have been here already for five hours and seem not to be able to to do anything with it even though it is the very same machine you sold me, I cannot afford to pay for your labour cost anymore please go and never mind my CV". How reasonable is that? Imagine you bought a BMW, and a small part is broken. You brought it to a garage who you thought would know how to fix it. This garage assigned a new guy who does not really know how to fix it. So he spent 2 days trying to fix this small part which could have been fixed in 15 minutes by a more experience guy (who charges the same rate by the way). Now, would you pay for the 2 days labour cost?

We have no issue paying the bill but this whole situation is beyond reasonableness.......

Aangezien we hier gewoon in Nederland zijn lijkt het mij voor de hand liggen de Nederlandse taal te bezigen.

Onredelijke nota's kennen we allemaal. Hoger dan we hadden verwacht maar toch correct opgesteld. Wanneer de in rekening gebrachte uren zijn gewerkt moet u die gewoon betalen. Niet jammeren, dan doet het alleen maar meer pijn...

Simply accept and pay the bill? I would like you to be one of my customers, easy money!
